Mission Statement
In a world enriched by connection, Reconnecting Cambodia envisions a future where Cambodians, at home and abroad, are empowered to heal and thrive.
Starting in the 1970s, Cambodia was plunged into a devastating conflict. War, genocide, poverty and adoption ripped families apart, and the chaos left in the wake of the political upheaval made it extremely difficult for these families to find each other, even decades later.
We aim to support the nation’s recovery by bridging lost family ties, ensuring that every Cambodian affected can reconnect with their loved ones and rebuild their familial legacies, overcoming past and present challenges.
Our mission is to empower Cambodian survivors of genocide and their descendants in the quest to find lost family members and reclaim their rich histories. We harness the groundbreaking potential of DNA testing to strengthen community bonds and encourage healing.
Our commitment extends beyond just locating loved ones—we offer free DNA testing, resources, support and safeguarding services to assist families throughout their journey.
By helping to expand the Cambodian DNA pool on global commercial databases, we dramatically enhance the likelihood of finding close relative matches, weaving a vibrant tapestry of connection and hope for generations to come.
