In September 2020, Li-Da Kruger, our co-founder, contacted Gilad Japhet, the founder and CEO of MyHeritage. She sent him the story of her search for her birth parents, including the link to the TV documentary she created in the spring of 2020 when she visited Cambodia with her adoptive mother. Gilad responded immediately and donated a very generous number of DNA tests to our project. This gift helped us launch our NGO at high speed: by early October, the Reconnecting Cambodia’s first office DNACambodia was registered as an official NGO in the Netherlands.



MyHeritage also contributed company resources to help produce some materials to spread awareness of our project and promote it, including a brochure and a video describing how DNA testing works in Khmer.
